Filled with Gratitude

Saskatoon, January 14, 2021 – 2020 may have come with challenges, but it also encouraged us to come together to support our community of literacy learners. We were continually reminded of the generosity of our supporters during our annual Light A Spark campaign in December.

Light A Spark was the most successful campaign in the entire 42-year history of READ Saskatoon, raising an astounding $75,500. This incredible achievement was made possible by our donors and sponsors, allowing READ Saskatoon to offer literacy programs to the community at no cost.

READ Saskatoon would like to give a special thank you to the Korchinski Family Foundation for matching dollars donated in the month of December. We would also like to thank North Prairie Developments for sponsoring the Literacy Grit Award, awarded to Brayden for his perseverance, eagerness, and achievement in his learning goals. You can read more about Brayden and his growth as a learner in this year’s campaign letter.

All funds raised through the Light A Spark campaign will be used to grow our programs in 2021 to keep up with the increasing demand for community-based literacy programs. Through these programs, we provide support to community members as they work to achieve their literacy goals.

If you wish to donate to READ Saskatoon, there is always still time! Thank you for showing us that literacy is important to our community.
