MNP Grows Literacy in Saskatchewan

RELEASE DATE December 13, 2021

Saskatoon, December 13, 2021 – On Monday, December 13, at the READ Saskatoon office, MNP’s local Partner group were proud to announce their $113,500 donation to literacy and the work of READ Saskatoon.

“For over 40 years, READ Saskatoon has provided free literacy programs to adults, children, and families. Learning is a lifelong adventure that starts at birth and needs attention, support, and guidance through community programming, schooling, in the workplace, and into retirement. No one’s skills are perfect; there is always room for growth,” says Sheryl Harrow-Yurach, READ Saskatoon’s Executive Director. “We believe lifelong learning habits contribute to strong and resilient communities.”

“Strong literacy skills are not attained by chance. They are nurtured and thrive within safe learning environments” says Kristine Sparrow, a Partner with MNP in Saskatoon. “Our world is rapidly changing, and we need to nurture and grow inquisitiveness and courageous minds. We are proud to help Saskatchewan individuals and families learn and grow by supporting READ Saskatoon’s literacy work.”

MNP will work with READ Saskatoon over the next five years to financially support their literacy programs as well as continue volunteering. “We’re proud to partner with an entrepreneurial community organization like READ Saskatoon who help us deliver our purpose of ensuring people succeed across the province,” says Sparrow.

Beyond providing this significant donation to READ Saskatoon, for the past three years, MNP staff have donated their time as volunteers contributing an additional $10,000 of staff salaries to literacy.
