Meet Our Keynote Speaker:
Brenda Nowakowski
Brenda Nowakowski is the retired CFO of JNE Welding Limited Partnership. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to acquire a minority ownership position early on in her 20 year career with the company. She was instrumental in the negotiations to sell a majority ownership position to two First Nations partners in 2015. She retains a partnership interest in the company through her investment arm Brelin Holdings Ltd.
Prior to her time with JNE she helped a number of small enterprises across Canada, primarily in the manufacturing sector, with the implementation of accounting and process software to enhance performance and business reporting.
Brenda describes herself as “constantly curious, easily surprised, rarely speechless and absolutely awed by the magic in people”. She is a passionate supporter of Saskatchewan small business and is also a strong advocate for education especially for Saskatchewan’s most vulnerable population. She has volunteered many hours in connection with numerous community boards and organizations.
Brenda is laser-focused on excellence. She can often be heard to remark “I never apologize for high expectations. Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise and expecting more than others think is possible. People and businesses continually amaze me when they achieve beyond those expectations.”
